Police say two people were killed in a chain-reaction crash Friday night in North Bellmore.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Jerusalem Avenue.
Police say Stephen Rossman, 20, was speeding in his SUV when he rear-ended a Nissan Altima.
They say the Altima spun out of control, hitting and killing a 45-year-old woman who was crossing the street.
Rossman's vehicle hit a trash can, which struck another vehicle. Officials say his SUV only came to a stop after it hit a white box truck.
Rossman died in the crash.
The identity of the other victim has not yet been released.
No one else was seriously injured.
