Police say that two accidents turned deadly on Sunrise Highway within two hours of each other on Sunday.
The first incident occurred around 10 a.m. in Sayville on Sunrise Highway between Johnson and Lincoln avenues.
Police say Maximilian Velazquez lost control of his motorcycle and hit a guardrail.
The 48-year-old Bay Shore resident was pronounced dead at the scene.
At around 12 p.m., a car went up in flames on Sunrise Highway near Nicolls Road in Bayport.
Police say that the driver, Michael Schuierer, lost control of his Jeep, causing it to flip and catch fire.
Video from the scene shows two people who tried to rescue the 49-year-old, but were kept back by intense flames.
