Two Roosevelt residents are under arrest for allegedly going on an armed robbery spree.
Police say 32-year-old Timothy Lang used a handgun to rob four stores in Roosevelt, Hempstead and Uniondale between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Kaphia LaRode, 24, is accused of driving the getaway car.
During the fourth robbery, police say a worker at Selmas Smoke Shop in Uniondale was able to wrestle the gun away from Lang. The incident was caught on surveillance video.
Officers then responded to the scene and placed Lang under arrest. Police say LaRode was apprehended in the rear parking lot of 977 Nassau Road in a 2002 Ford Explorer.
Officials say the two are charged with multiple counts of robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Lang will remain in jail for two more days before being arraigned. LaRode's bail was set Monday at $800,000 or $400,000 cash.
