Police say two people are accused of scamming senior citizens.
According to police, Heather Marchese and Sean DiStefano went to the Paumanack Village apartments in Greenlawn on Monday, claiming to collect donations for Easter dinners for the homeless.
Police say the duo stole property from a senior's apartment.
Both were charged with burglary as a hate crime for targeting the elderly. Residents say they've seen DiStefano around the complex before.
Police believe others were scammed. Anyone who may be a victim can call Suffolk Hate Crimes at 631-852-6323.
