An 11-year-old boy was fatally struck by a pickup truck in Sagaponack, police say.

Police say it happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Town Line Road.

News 12 is told a male driver was backing out of a work site when he hit the child riding on his bicycle.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
