Police are investigating after one person was shot outside a Smithtown bar this morning.
According to police, a patron was inside Hypnosis 8.0 located on East Main Street when he grabbed and hung on to a water pipe and caused it to break. The break led to an evacuation of the bar at 1:15 a.m.
Police say while the crowd was outside, an altercation began and at least two people fired shots.
A Central Islip man, 29, was shot in the leg and transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
