A young woman from Nassau County is dead after crashing into a tree on the Meadowbrook Parkway overnight.
State police say Raquel Liberte, of Valley Stream, was driving fast on the Meadowbrook early this morning just north of the Southern State Parkway between exits M5 and M6.
According to police, the 20-year-old lost control and hit a tree on the right shoulder around 1:30 a.m.
Liberte's passenger, also of Valley Stream, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
