Plea deals were struck and more charges were filed Monday in the William Floyd school spending scandal.
Former Assistant Superintendent of Business Daniel Cifonelli pleaded guilty to charges of grand larceny and money laundering. He's accused of stealing $600,000 from the district. Former Treasurer James Wright also pleaded guilty. He's accused of writing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of checks from the district to his own account.
Meanwhile, charges were filed against retired Assistant Superintendent of Personnel Michael Schildkraut and Dennis Fidotta, the current assistant superintendent for business. Both are accused of falsifying information to help Schildkraut's daughter-in-law get hired as an accountant for the district.
