Seniors concerned about scammers who crack into retirement nest eggs and steal identities flocked to Plainview Old-Bethpage Library Monday to learn how to sniff out swindlers.
Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice was on hand, offering advice on how to spot unscrupulous scammers. She also urged senior citizens to understand what the law is and how to protect themselves. Up to 5 million U.S. seniors a year have reported being victims of schemes that robbed them of identities and savings.
