A woman crossing William Floyd Parkway was struck and killed by a pickup truck this morning.
Jessica Chaimowitz was crossing the parkway at Roberts Road when a silver pickup heading north on the parkway struck her. Police say she was killed instantly.
The driver stayed at the scene, and police say he will not be charged.
Chaimowitz had just bought a cup of coffee at Dunkin' Donuts. Josh Adorno, who had just served the young woman and knew her, talked to News 12 Long Island after the crash but was still shaken up.
"She's a very good person. And it was horrific to watch, I turned my back for two seconds, I just made her coffee and that happened. It's devastating to see someone that you know, just get killed."
