A man from Peekskill was identified as one of the three victims who were killed in the Manhattan stabbing spree on Monday.

Police said 36-year-old Angel Lata Landi, of Peekskill, was stabbed on West 19th Street in Manhattan on Monday morning. He was found with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"It makes me feel terrible for the families," said resident Meagan Kobielski. "Especially, during the time of the holidays."

Police said a 67-year-old man and Wilma Augustin, 36, were also fatally stabbed in two other parts of Manhattan later on that morning.

Police arrested a 51-year-old homeless man named Ramon Rivera, 51, in connection with the crimes. He was arraigned in court on Tuesday and faces three counts of first-degree murder charges, according to an official from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

Khalid Al-Jayyousi says the incident made him want to be more vigilant when he is in the city.

"Some neighborhoods, if I am there, I will be very careful," he said.

News 12 learned that Rivera has also been arrested for other incidents in the past.

This information alone made Kobielski want to call for more access to mental health resources.

"Even just therapy alone isn't accessible for so many. Sessions are between a $100 and $300 a session," Kobielski said. "So, it's a problem that's bigger than what occurred obviously."

Rivera is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday.
