Peekskill has declared a state of emergency effective immediately due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The city manager's order includes closings of facilities like playgrounds and parks to promote social distancing and slow the spreads.

The city's open space and trails will remain open.

Officials say there are eight confirmed cases in Peekskill. Those residents are under mandatory isolation.
