Police say a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a car in Mount Sinai early this morning.
Police say a car was driving eastbound on Route 25A, west of Westgate Drive, when it struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway.
The pedestrian has been identified as Daniel Colastanto, 18, of Port Jefferson Station.
Colastanto was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver was not injured.
Police say the vehicle has been impounded for a safety check.
