A female pedestrian was fatally struck by a taxi in Port Jefferson Station early Sunday morning, police say.
The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. on Route 112 by Cherub Lane.
Investigators say 66-year-old Gail Oses was walking along Route 112 when she was struck by a Lindy's Taxi, driven by 64-year-old Brendan Hurst.
Oses was pronounced dead at Mather Hospital. Police say she was homeless.
Hurst and two male passengers who were in the cab were not injured.
Police say no charges have been filed in the case at this time. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
