Pedestrian fatally struck by car in Hempstead
One person was killed and another was hurt when they were struck by a car in Hempstead early Saturday morning. Police say the pair was crossing Clinton Street by Dartmouth Street just after 1 a.m.

One person was killed and another was hurt when they were struck by a car in Hempstead early Saturday morning.
Police say the pair was crossing Clinton Street by Dartmouth Street just after 1 a.m. when they were struck by a Dodge Challenger.
The victims have not been identified.
So far, no charges have been filed, police say. The vehicle involved was impounded for a safety check.
