In this week's Paws & Pals,  North Shore Animal League America presented some furry friends that are looking for their “furever” homes.
LANA - Lovely LANA has found a comfy place in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center where she enjoys bathing in the light streaming in through the windows. Lana loves people and playing with spinning bottlecaps and dreidels. This dazzling, medium haired, Tortie girl has been the focus of attention since she arrived as a kitten 2 ½ years ago in need of veterinary help for her seizures that leave her with some impaired vision and coordination issues. Lana is on a special diet for Feline Urinary Tract Disease, too. But challenges have never impacted her voice de vivre—as a matter of fact, her pawsitive catitude is inspiring and infectious! And it will never impact her new family – thanks to our generous donors supporting our Sponsor Program, Lana’s health issues are covered through our Pet Health Center so caring for Lana will be as easy as loving her. We’re hoping for a very special family (with older kids and previous cat experience) to take over the wonderful care Lana has known with us. She’s purrfectly imperfect.
EKOLU - Ekolu says “three legs? no problem!” In fact, that’s what “Ekolu” means in Hawaiian – three! To help alleviate the burden on local shelters in Hawaii after the fires on Maui, North Shore Animal League America took in several Hawaiian cats from Oahu, including Ekolu. Just watching this 9-month-old rescue hop around is enough to melt anyone’s heart. This playful little man with gorgeous markings will greet you in search of ear rubs and toys for playtime. Ekolu is best as an only pet and wants to be the sole object of your affection, so a home where he’s the only animal would be ideal. Don’t hesitate because we predict our purrfectly imperfect tripod friend is destined to hop into his new life with his first family very soon.
ELOISE - Eloise doesn’t need The Plaza Hotel when she’s living in style inside the Kennel Manager’s offices at North Shore Animal League America! This 8-year-old Beagle/Shepherd mix is pure love in search of affection and security after she lost her longtime home. Every morning this senior lady greets staff with a wagging tail and wiggling butt, overjoyed to see them. And don’t try to stop petting her… she’ll let you know when she’s done! Eloise is looking for adopters who will indulge her love of walks, exploring outside, and her favorite activity: being by your side. Eloise is looking for a laidback home with humans who have previous dog experience. This gentle soul deserves a loving home for her golden years.
RUBALEE - Rubalee is our vivacious Hound mix fresh from Natchitoches, Louisiana. Just one-and-a-half years old, this young lady is looking for a family ready to match her fun-loving energy and playful spirit. The ideal home would be one with a fenced-in backyard so Rubalee can run around and play fetch safely to her Cajun heart’s desire. (With Hound in her DNA, she’s a vocal dog so life in an apartment won’t work.) A family with previous dog-experience (and children aged 8 and older ) would be the best fit so everyone can continue with Rubalee’s behavior and manners training.
