A Nesconset-based nonprofit rescued a cat to grant a service member's Christmas wish.

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Tracy found Walter, a malnourished kitten near her base, and the feline became her closest companion.

Paws of War rescuers worked to save Walter from euthanasia and bring him home to the United States.

The cat is being cared for Paws of Wars and will be reunited with Tech Sgt. Tracy when she returns to the country in the coming weeks.
