Eight puppies were rescued from Mississippi and are getting a second chance at life thanks to Paws of War.

The Nesconset-based organization recently rescued the dogs from various cases of animal abuse.

The pups, who are all named after Santa's reindeer, are cared for and housed at Paws of Wars until they find their forever homes with first responders, active military, veterans or Gold Star families.
