Flynn is a 3-year-old male pit bull terrier blue. Flynn came to the shelter a few months ago emaciated and neglected. He has since been nursed back to health and has displayed an amazing personality. Having no training due to his previous life of neglect, it took Flynn a little while to learn his leash manners and basic commands. Our trainers continue to make strides with his training, but he would do best in a home that was willing to continue to work with him on setting boundaries. Flynn enjoys long walks and playtime. He would do best in a home without children and other pets. Flynn also has a soft side. He loves to snuggle and always appreciates a good belly rub.
Porsha is an almost 2-year-old pit bull terrier. She is very playful and can be quite vocal. She will bring you toys, and loves to play tug of war. Porsha is a very energetic dog who would enjoy someone with an active lifestyle. She’s looking for a home with children above the age of 16. She's not aggressive, just very hyper. She's been working on her obedience and enjoys learning. She likes hikes and the company of other dogs.
Cali and Tito are a bonded pair, surrendered to the shelter when their humans could no longer provide for them. They are both almost 2 years old. They love to play with their toys and are big snugglers. Cali is a bit more reserved, and Tito is very outgoing.
The shelter is offering roadside adoptions and foster program.
During the pandemic, the shelter's pet food pantry is open to anyone in need. Long Islanders in need of dog or cat food for their 'fur-ever' friends can call 631-728-7387 ext 231.
