Gov. David Paterson is due to sign legislation that will put cameras at 50 of Long Island?s most dangerous intersections.
The cameras will take photographs of cars that run red lights. A ticket and fine will then be sent in the mail. Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi says the red light cameras will bring in much-needed revenues. Both counties hope to decrease the number of accidents on our roads.
Suffolk County Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington (D-Patchogue) says the cameras will make Suffolk safer for all drivers and pedestrians.
