The dueling factions in the state Senate held two separate sessions once again Friday, but according to Gov. David Paterson there has been no progress on a power-sharing agreement.
Gov. David Paterson has called on senators to convene special sessions every day until they reach a deal so they can get back to passing legislation. It has been 18 days since the ?coup? that shook up, and Republicans contend, dismantled the Democratic majority. It?s also been 18 days since any bills have been passed in the chamber.
During Friday?s sessions, Democrats gaveled in and four minutes later gaveled out. Republicans did the same. No state business was conducted, but Democrats decided to hold a moment of silence for Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett.
