The village of Patchogue says it's waiving late fees in hopes of collecting unpaid parking fines.
Patchogue officials say the village has more than 4,500 unpaid parking tickets.
An amnesty program for the month of March will allow violators to return late parking tickets to Village Hall or to mail them in, but the tickets must be paid in full.
Village officials tell Newsday that they're hoping the amnesty program will help recoup $125,000.
