Several restaurants in Patchogue came together Christmas Day to donate and serve hot meals to families those in need.

Over 500 families in need reserved multi-course meals in advance and an additional 100 families were able to walk up to place their orders.

For the 13th consecutive year, the event has grown.

Scottie Campbell Perebell, says the event started slowly in years past with two to three hundred people but then it grew to four hundred and five hundred.  

Perebell says the last few years they have been serving over five hundred families.
