About 100 kids left the school building at 7:45 a.m. as planned, some carrying hand-made signs. The students say they organized the protest to let the community know that kids will get less of an education if the budget doesn?t pass. They say if the budget fails it will mean 40 students to a classroom, no sports at all next year and the possibility of no summer school. School officials say all the kids who walked out will be disciplined, with most getting a one-day in-school suspension. Officials say the student protest organizers will receive a two-day in-school suspension.
