Brave Long Islanders jumped into the wintry ocean waters at the 20th annual Long Beach Polar Plunge Sunday.

The daring dip at the Riverside Boulevard Boardwalk raises money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Throughout the years, the Long Beach Polar Bears have helped make wishes come true for hundreds of children with critical illnesses.

"You know a wish can change a child's life and the Long Beach community understands that," says Kathie Lombardi of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
