Some Kingsbridge Heights residents and city officials are claiming a victory after the city agreed to remove several parking meters.
After a Department of Transportation (DOT) field study, officials found a number of the meters weren?t necessary. Residents had complained the meters were an inconvenience for people looking to park near their homes.
The DOT says many of the meters will be removed from residential streets by the end of May. However, officials remind drivers they have to pay the meters until they are officially removed.
