Some Holy Trinity High School students chose to skip classes Monday after a threat was made against the Hicksville school.
School officials say the threat was made on the popular Web site MySpace.com over the weekend. The school, which is run by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, put extra security guards and Nassau police officers on the campus as a result of the threat. Police officers were also posted at the entrances to the building, which were limited.
According to diocese spokesperson Sean Dolan, while all threats are taken seriously, this threat was not creditable. Dolan assured parents and students that the campus was safe. He encouraged parents to send kids to school, however, students were excused from classes.
