A Lynbrook dentist is teaching again after surviving a spinal injury that paralyzed him.
Today Dr. Joseph Brofksy will be at North Shore University Hospital to meet with his friend who helped save his life.
The men were on vacation in the Dominican Republican in March when Brofsky was hit by an 8-foot wave.
The 62-year-old suffered a serious spinal injury and lost the use of his arms and legs.
Even though he can't perform dental procedures, he returned to work in June to run the dental residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.
Physical therapy has enabled him to hold his 2-month-old grandson.
