A three-member arbitration panel has ruled that Standard Amusements could not terminate its contract with Westchester County to manage Playland Amusement Park in Rye.
In granting a partial summary judgement, the panel ruled Standard was required to give the county ample time to complete work at the park.
Standard alleged the county had not completed a certain portion of the work it was required to do.
As a result, the contract was breached.
The county said the ruling showed that Standard’s actions were an irresponsible attempt to walk away from obligations and shift blame.
It is continuing to seek damages against Standard.
A Standard Amusements spokesperson said they do not comment on ongoing litigation.
