The owner of a Huntington Village bagel shop was fatally shot early Friday morning, Suffolk police said.
Police said somebody called 911 at 5 a.m. and reported hearing gunfire. When officers arrived at Super Bagel on Wall Street, they discovered the body of 39-year-old Ann Anderson. Investigators did not disclose who called police.
Carol Eckard, who works next to the bagel store, said Anderson also worked as a nurse at Huntington Hospital. Eckard said Anderson, of Dix Hills, was going through a divorce and recently regained ownership of the bagel store in the settlement.
Investigators said the victim was shot several times and they do not believe robbery was a motive.
