News 12 meteorologists say there is potential for a heat wave this week as conditions are expected to be hazy, hot and humid across Long Island.
Forecasters say high temperatures will be near 90 degrees, but feel more like 95-100 degrees.
Those conditions are sure to make it hard on workers who have to brave the elements outdoors. Officials say outdoor workers should take frequent breaks in the shade and drink lots of water.
Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s all week.
