This summer marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
This weekend, sights and sounds of the conflict come to life with help from some living historians at Nassau's Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
As part of the event, talent is put into period WW II gear, including helmets, fatigues, knapsacks and rifles, and becomes part of a squad of soldiers for the day.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
