Old Barn, new tattoo: Islanders fan memorializes Coliseum on leg

“Since I was 4-year-old, I got to go to games there with my dad and spend quality time with him,” said Keith O'Brien. “I met some of my closest friends there. I don’t think I'd be the person I am today without being in that building.”

Keith O’Brien is a special type of Islanders fan.
He’s a fanatic. A die-hard. A fan who got the Nassau Coliseum tattooed on his quadricep.
Artist John Doughty put the finishing touches on it Tuesday. It has the old “Old Barn” look – the place where O’Brien spent much of his youth.
“Since I was 4-year-old, I got to go to games there with my dad and spend quality time with him,” he said. “I met some of my closest friends there. I don’t think I'd be the person I am today without being in that building.”
This year, O’Brien was in the building for all but one playoff game, so like the tattoo says – he rocked the barn.
“If people every doubt how big of a fan I am, I can show them the tattoo and they'll have to believe me.”
