A utility worker has been hospitalized after getting shocked Tuesday in Merrick, officials say.

North Merrick fire officials say they responded to a house on Elliot Place around 2:45 p.m. That is where they say they found the victim hanging on a ladder about 20 feet from a utility pole.

He was taken to the hospital. It's unclear the extent of his injuries.
