An explosion rocked Stony Brook University's campus Thursday afternoon.
School officials say the blast happened around 4:30 p.m. during a science experiment inside a lab at the Earth and Space Science building.
School officials say that there was some interior damage to the wall of the lab where the experiment took place.
A faculty member and student were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation with minor injuries.
School officials say there is no risk for danger to anyone in or around the campus community, but the building was evacuated for 30 minutes as a precaution.
