The Commissioner of New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Erik Kulleseid and Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Hope Knight say the Ryder Cup, golf’s pre-eminent event, will take place at Bethpage State Park in 2025.
"We are honored by our growing partnership with the PGA of America and look forward to welcoming fans from around the world when the biennial Ryder Cup returns to the United States at Bethpage State Park in September 2025," said Commissioner Kulleseid. "Bethpage Black is considered one of the top golf courses in the world and our Parks team is already working on preparations to showcase ‘The People’s Country Club’ when the golf world’s spotlight shines on our state park in two years. As a state park, the course welcomes public play and has hosted several professional major championships including two U.S. Opens and the PGA Championship."
Commissioner Kulleseid and Commissioner Knight will officially receive the Ryder Cup hand-off in Rome, Italy as the golf event's next host, along with Bethpage State Park Director Scott Matson.
An expected 225,000 fans will converge on the park.
Bethpage Black will host the Ryder Cup for the first time in 2025, joining Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester as the only courses in New York state to host the Ryder Cup.
