There's a push to make sure sex offenders can't drive Uber or Lyft cars on Long Island.
Suffolk has agreed to allow the ride-hailing companies to start operating June 29 after state approval.
The current law blocks Level 2 and 3 sex offenders from driving for ride-hailing services, but it would allow Level 1 sex offenders to drive for Uber and Lyft seven years after their conviction.
Critics don't want Uber or Lyft operating in Suffolk until that 'loophole' is closed.
