Officials are preparing for the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes next weekend.

The three-day event will include more than 17 races with more than $10 million up for grabs.

Event organizers are expecting a massive crowd for the event, but are for the first time capping its attendance. Last year, officials estimate that about 100,000 people attended, but only 90,000 tickets were sold this year.

Officials say that no tickets will be available for purchase on race day. The decision is an effort to make it easier for drivers to enter and exit the grounds during the event.

Security this year will be headed by George Venizelos, the former director of the FBI's New York office. He says there will be a high police presence during the event that includes emergency service units, SWAT teams and federal authorities.

A Triple Crown will be on the line as American Pharoah tries to make history. The horse is expected to be on Belmont's grounds by Tuesday.
