Police say a Copiague family has been left homeless after their home was heavily damaged by a fire that started from a hookah.
The fire broke out at a home on Verazzano Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Fire officials say a teen inside the home was smoking hookah in his bedroom, left his room and came back to the fire.
According to officials, the family tried to put out the fire themselves, but were unsuccessful.
No one was injured during the incident.
