Officials: Fire engulfs home in Baldwin; 3 firefighters injured

They say one firefighter was treated at Nassau University Medical Center for burns to his neck. The other two were treated for heat exhaustion.

A home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday in Baldwin, officials say.
They say the home, located on 2911 Yale Place, was engulfed in flames at around 11 a.m.
Over 75 firefighters battled the fire and three had to be rushed to the hospital because of intense heat, according to officials..
They say one firefighter was treated at Nassau University Medical Center for burns to his neck. The other two were treated for heat exhaustion.
Officials say it took about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire.
Fire officials say no one was home at the time of the fire.
The homeowner is a retired firefighter, according to neighbors.
