Norwalk police say two snakes were found in an abandoned vehicle Friday night.
News 12 is told the vehicle was found on West Rocks Road. Officials say they found two 3-foot-long boa constrictors inside a glass aquarium.
Investigators say the vehicle was towed away, and the snakes were taken by Animal Control.
Animal Control says it has reached out to numerous snake sanctuaries in case the owner of the reptiles does not show up.
Officers say animal cruelty charges may be involved due to the animals being left in a hot car.
Investigators say boa constrictors are legal in Connecticut.
Police say the abandoned car is unregistered, so its owner is currently unknown.
