Officials: Animal chew through cable, causing Suffolk sites to crash

They say a rodent likely caused the Wi-Fi in county office to go offline Tuesday.

Suffolk officials say an animal, likely a rodent, caused the Wi-Fi in county offices to temporarily go offline on Tuesday.
They say the animal chewed through an above-ground cable, causing the Suffolk County and Suffolk County Police Department websites to crash.
The problem started at around 1 p.m. and was restored two hours later.
