Nine more students at Wantagh High School have tested positive for coronavirus.
As News 12 has reported, last week 15 students tested positive following a non-school event.
As a result, school officials say the high school is moving to full remote instruction for the remainder of the week.
During that time, all in-person high school extracurricular activities and athletics are canceled until students return to in-person learning.
Honestly, I think the school should be kept open," says Jay Cohen, of Wantagh. "I mean these kids don't seem to learn. They all get together and they infect each other, and then why should the whole school, all the teachers and all the parents have to suffer because of that so you weed them out and try to keep the schools open."
The school is offering free COVID-19 tests for all asymptomatic high school students during the remote learning period.
