Two people are dead after a 4-car crash on the Meadowbrook Parkway Sunday.
Police say a white BMW hit a Honda sedan, which then hit a light pole. The BMW then rear-ended a PT Cruiser and a black GMC.
Officials say the driver of the PT Cruiser, 23-year-old Samantha Shaw of Westbury and front-seat passenger, 24-year-old Timothy Lafferty of Syosset, died at the scene.
They say the driver of the BMW, 22-year-old Thomas Bochichio of Massapequa Park, was taken to Winthrop Hospital for minor injuries.
The Meadowbrook Parkway northbound near Exit M1 in Carle Place was closed for hours following the accident.
Witnesses say they stopped to try to help any of the people in the cars that crashed.
"It's a scary thing, you know, seeing anything like that happen to anybody so we did the best we could to help out and that was it," said Ron Artusa of New Hyde Park. "But apparently there was nothing that could be done for the people in the car."
No one is currently facing charges.
