Officials say two children have been hospitalized after being hit by a police cruiser in Deer Park.
The accident occurred on Deer Park Avenue near Lake Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
Police say the officer's cruiser was hit by a car, which sent him jumping over a curb, hitting the two children who were walking.
The police officer and children were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
