A Holbrook man was rescued from the water after jumping in to try and save his dog in Patchogue.
Ethan Brako says he was crabbing overnight at Mascot Dock and Marina when his 2-year-old dog, Breena, jumped into the water.
Brako said he "had to go in" to save her because she's his everything.
He got to Breena but he said it was "pretty hard" to get her in because he was trying to tread water with a 100-pound dog on his shoulder.
He was able to get her to a ladder and then grabbed his cellphone, which was on the dock, and called 911.
Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers came to the rescue.
Brako says he and Breena are fine.
