Members of Oceanside's Jewish community came together Sunday night to pray for peace in the aftermath of Hamas' deadly surprise attack on Israel.

Congregants at the Temple Avodah said they are concerned for friends and family who are currently stuck in Israel.

Rabbi Shai Beloosesky is pleading for solidarity.

"We are one people... If I can do some comparison in history, what happened yesterday the morning of Simchat Torah, the morning of Shabbat, is like what happened here in the United States on 9/11 and in Pearl Harbor," Beloosesky said.

President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on earlier on Sunday and said, "Additional assistance for the Israeli defense forces" is now on the way to Israel.
