Oceanside fire truck responding to fire involved in head-on collision

An Oceanside fire truck responding to a fire was involved in a head-on collision Sunday. According to fire officials, the truck was headed to battle a blaze at an abandoned building on Atlantic Avenue.

An Oceanside fire truck responding to a fire was involved in a head-on collision Sunday.
According to fire officials, the truck was headed to battle a blaze at an abandoned building on Atlantic Avenue. Officials say when the truck was a block away from the fire, the driver crossed over into oncoming traffic to get to the fire scene. They say that?s when the truck collided with a car.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. None of the firefighters were seriously injured in the crash. Another group of firefighters was able to put out the blaze after the crash. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
