Oakdale-Bohemia student pushes school to teach wheelchair basketball lesson in honor of Disability Awareness Month

Middle school students had the opportunity to enjoy shooting hoops using sports wheelchairs.

A local seventh-grader expressed her passion for sports and inclusiveness by getting her PhysEd class to hold a wheelchair basketball lesson.
Emma D'Antonio asked Oakdale-Bohemia school to add the lesson in honor of Disability Awareness Month.
Middle school students had the opportunity to enjoy shooting hoops using sports wheelchairs.
D'Antonio plays on a travel wheelchair basketball team.
She hopes to attend a Division One college and eventually become a paralympic for Team USA.
