Swimmers were ordered out of the water at Robert Moses State Park Thursday due to a reported shark sighting, according to New York State Parks.
A drone operator spotted what they believed was a 10-foot thresher shark near the swimming area of Robert Moses Field 5.
The suspected shark went along the shoreline at Field 4 and then swam out to sea. The drone followed it as it left the swimming area.
Swimming was halted around 3:30 p.m., but beachgoers were allowed back into the water around 4:30 p.m.
